Being relaxed and sitting comfortably is very important. Chad likes to have his legs at a 45-degree angle. Some people sit a little higher. Experiment with what feels best to you. The key is to be in a comfortable seated position while playing the bass drum on 1-2-3-4. For fun, we open this lesson with a little backstage footage from a Chili Peppers concert.
