Terry Bozzio: Developing Independence with Triplet Permutations
This week we're featuring 2 lessons from the Drum Channel Academy > Semester 3 > Advanced > Week 1. In this lesson, Drum Channel artist-in-residence Terry Bozzio demonstrates his system for developing independence using 9 permutations of eighth-note triplets and orchestrating them around the kit. It's a difficult exercise that temporarily challenges even Terry. The Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced tiers of DC Academy are each organized into three 16-week semesters with each week including lessons on Hand Technique, Foot Technique, Independence and Beats & Grooves. Additional learning modules are also available for all 3 levels.
